First Snow! Start of a long period of artic cold.
For some reason, Dawn Yeo seems to the most searched person on Yahoo Singapore.
For sake of curiosity, I followed the chase as well.
I dun see what the furore is about.
Who cares if she has had plastic surgery?
So what if she & her friends are rich?
Why are Singaporeans so Kaypoh?
I have a cynical feeling that all this publicity is in fact engineered.
I mean, if I were her artiste management representative, I would advice her to milk the controversy for what its worth as well.
In fact, by refusing to give a straight answer, it creates a certain mystique and otherwise unwarranted interest in her. Too bad she's in the US and won't be around to sign endorsement and advertisement contracts.
At this stage of her career, any publicity is good publicity.
If these people online are really so disinterested and revolted by her as they so claim, then why play into her hands by giving her what she wants.
My theory is that these all these critics are secretly infatuated with her probably having fantasies of her.
Of course, they won't admit to it.

Desperate for some inspiration. Banish that writer's block. What is there to write about the dynamics of negotiation, as portrayed on film? 20 Pages of fluff - candy floss to tempt the prof. I would speak in Yiddish if I could. Need a long drive home to clear the thoughts. Nothing like a moment of tranquility.

The midly spectacular interior of the Notre Dame Basilica, Ottawa. Everytime I look at it, it reminds me of a jigsaw puzzle I chanced upon in Centrepoint a few years ago. One of those 3000 or 5000 piece puzzles. I don't have that kind of patience.
Kenny vs Spenny is on channel 39 right now. Immediately after Trailer Park Boys. Its fascinating the kind of trash that tv viewers here are being fed. One after another. Then again, when I recall the cringe-worthy Masters of the Sea or insipid Benedict Goh on The Pyramid Game, maybe it ain't so bad after all.

Looks so Parisian but with none of the attitude. How can anyone resist an Al Fresco experience? Interestingly, but not surprisingly, there seems to be some tension between Quebec-ians and the rest of the English speaking Canadians. If I may categorise the undertones with a broad brush - seperatists vs. nationalists. Yet it seems that the seperatists seem to have more passion. The youths are as usual, disaffected.
If PGP looked this good, you would need like a hundred ECA points to get a spot. Gonna catch Les Mis tml. So looking forward to it. Most places overseas have Arts scenes that would drawf Sg's anyday. But fortunately for our yet to be cultured society, we are moving in the right direction, albeit at a painfully slow pace. On another note, I bought tickets to the Raptors-Miami Heat Game! Come 20th Nov, I'm gonna relish Shaq having the entire Raptors lineup for lunch. Come to think of it, I can't name a single Raptors player. Hope I find some space in the 'away' section of the crowd.

An Oasis in the middle of a busy street, The Prince George Hotel is a throwback to simpler times. Retaining the same facade it had since inception, it is a rarity in our era of constantly changing faces. Built at the end of the Wild West era - a misnomer since I am on the Eastern Seaboard - PG Hotel, much like its neighbour, City Hall, again seems displaced from its time. Take nothing away from its beauty but it looks more at home on a dusty street in El Paso.
Kingston was Canada's capital for a short period of time lasting less than 3 years in the late 19th century. Not many know of this fact. City Hall, built during those 3 years, sticks out like a sore thumb amidst non-nonsense red-brick buildings. It is a reminder of the City's past. A city that has seen better days and its 15 seconds of fame come and go. A a reminder of the ephemeral nature of our being. Grandoise and Kingston hardly go together. A quaint little town more suited to lazy days of strolls down the beaches of nearby Wolfe Island and homemade ice-cream on the sidewalk.
