The result of Topo Queens' efforts in reading a map. Lost in Translation. Topo King clutches his head in despair. Told you the map was upside down!

Topo Queens trying their darndest to plot a route through the urban jungle.

Ali the Dog just loves all that Attention. Dennis, Dorothy, Desmond, Dwayne and Donovan's place, Mississauga.

Mr Miyagi showing off a few moves. By the looks of it, think I better help him get a GS table.

Toronto Island - Relax the mind Self Explanatory. Unfortunately, the majority of exhibitionists were male. Not so hot.

The Eternal courtship between male and female. Neither really understands the other.
Michelle pissed me off. So I pushed her overboard.
View of Toronto's skyline from Toronto Island. The unmistakable CN tower.

The 3 Musketeers had really shiny suits. So Rita is about to lash the Texan Coast and maybe New Orleans again. Katrina was an utter tragedy - both the destruction of the storm itself and the response. Sort of discussed the American obsession with blame in class this week. Whenever anything bad happens, it seems that someone (preferably with deep pockets) is to blame. Well, there is always the option of rallying the community to help one another (really?). I suspect 'biting the bullet' would be much less palatable here than in Singapore. A line in the movie I watched this week keeps playing in my mind.... "someone [a corp.] out there, calculated the cost variance between a 10 cent bolt and a million dollar lawsuit. And they decided to sacrifice a few lives in between. I will sue them. I will sue them till they bleed"

This was Modernism as represented in the late 1930s. No! this was not supposed to be a spittoon or anything. Just an artist's impression of what an orange juice jug might look like in the 21st century. I'm impressed. Certainly wouldn't mind having it in the kitchen. Besides, anything "Bling, Bling" is always in here. I've been faithfully following 2 semi-reality tv shows lately - other than friends and sex&the city reruns - Miami Ink and Overhauling!. Wish they had these shows in Singapore!

Skilled Chinese Hands put Stencil to Paper - James Dean and the Beatles would have been proud of their portraits. A small but swelling crowd gather to watch him weave his magic.

An unsuspecting couple get their salad peppered and themselves paparazzied by me. I simply love this picture, how the waiter's hands are suspended in motion and how things around the couple standstill for a split second. Both almost look anxious as they wait for an appropriate time to stop the waiter's elegant grinding. They way his left hand grips the shaft of the Peppa-Grinder is also especially interesting - wrist facing up and palm facing the sky. As if to say that he has nothing to hide.

The Ubiquitous Doggie Stall - Chilly Doggin and Unlimited Pickles. Locals love nothing better than to sit in the open field during lunch; doggie in one hand and novel in the other. Lunch never seemed quite the same back home.

My Pretty Babe and those Ladies Hats. Queen's Quay, Harbour Front, Lake Ontario.

The choices are simply mind boggling. A colour to match all moods and seasons.

My Comfy Couch is the site of much activity these days. Eating, watching the US Open and readings are all done here. Just out of sight, in the foreground, is my pile of books. The textbooks here are unbelievably expensive. Half of my courses require books that total S$120 or more! Anyway, really happy that I chose Law & Film. The prof. loves violence on film. Just my cup of tea.

Whipping up a storm these days. My kitchen is pretty well stocked. Just hate the cleaning up.

My living room / dining room all rolled in one. Met the other Singaporeans studying in UofT just the other night. Very nice people indeed. I guess being the minority does jolt you out of your comfort zone a little bit. Back home, I could pretty much do anything I wanted. But over here, you do feel a wee bit apprehensive at times. Another thing that comes naturally is that Twangy English whenever we speak to a local. But the moment we meet a Singaporean, Singlish returns just as naturally. Used to it by now.

What looks like a sumptous feast is more than meets the eye. Pretty proud of my first steamed sole fish. Until I tasted it that is. Macham Giam He - salted fish. Oh well, trial and error exists for a reason.
