Photo Taken in South Africa 2005.

We are such pampered creatures. This African's only possessions are the clothes on his back, his bottle of murky water and some tin cans to carry his food around. South Africa, post-apartheid, has made tremendous strides. If you ever visit, the first thing that strikes you is widespread industrialisation. Inevitably, the arrival of capitalism has brought with it its social ills. Wealth, as usual, is concentrated at the upper echelons of society. Millions of others like him, once rejoicing in the fall of white supremacy, now wallow in the pits of despair. Neglected by an increasingly materialistic society and struggling to stay alive.
